Date Sugar Co. 30 Second Date Paste

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Date Sugar Co.’s Raw Organic Date Sweetener
  • 1/2 cup water

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Combine date sugar and water in a bowl.

Step 2

Using fork or whisk, mix until fully combined.

Step 3

Place in an airtight container and refrigerate.

*Make flavored date paste by adding a tablespoon cocoa powder or cinnamon

Date Sugar Co. Banana Loaf Bread

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Date Sugar Co.’s Raw Organic Date Sweetener
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
  • 1 3/4 cup of flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325F.  

Step 2

Grease a loaf pan with butter and add 1 Tbsp. flour to coat. 

Step 3

In a bowl combine salt, flour, baking powder, and baking soda.  Set aside. 

Step 4

In a mixing bowl combine date sugar with 6 tbsp . of water.  Using a fork, combine until a paste is formed.  Add oil and eggs.  Beat vigorously until frothy.  Add bananas and blend thoroughly.  

Step 5

Slowly add the flour mixture, ½ cup at a time.  Pour mixture into prepared loaf pan.  Bake for 50 – 60 minutes until brown.  Place on rack to cool.

Date Sugar Co. Cocoa Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup Date Sugar Co.’s Raw Organic Date Sweetener
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter cut in 1’’ pieces
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup of flour

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325F.  Grease an 8x8x2 glass baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.  Set baking dish aside.

Step 2

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.  Let cool slightly.

Step 3

In a medium bowl, whisk date sugar with ½ plus 2 Tbsp. water until combined.  Add cocoa and salt to combine.

Step 4

Pour butter in a slow stream into the mixture, whisking constantly to blend.  Whisk in vanilla.  Add eggs, one at a time, and beat vigorously to blend after each addition.  Add flour and stir until just combined.  Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth top.

Step 5

Bake 20 – 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center, comes out with a few moist crumbs attached. Place pan on a rack until cool, 10 minutes.

Date Sugar Co. Muffins

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Date Sugar Co.’s Raw Organic Date Sweetener
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup grated apple
  • 1 cup grated carrots, peeled
  • 1 ½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • ½ cup raisins

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F.  Line a 12-cup standard muffin pan with paper muffin cups.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine almond flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, walnuts, and raisins.  Stir until combine.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, mix date sugar with ¼ cup of water.  Mix until combine.  Add eggs and mix well.  Next, add carrots, apples, and melted butter.  Slowly add the dry ingredients, mixing until combined.

Step 4

Spoon the batter into the muffin cups.  Filling each muffin cup to the top. (The muffins do not rise, so they will not spill over while cooking.) 

Step 5

Bake until the muffins are browned on top and a toothpick inserted comes out clean, 25-30 minutes.  Place on a wire rack until muffins are cooled, 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup Date Sugar Co.’s Raw Organic Date Sweetener
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds, pecans, cashews)
  • ½ cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 275F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, nuts, coconut, cinnamon, salt, and date sugar.

Step 3

Add the oil and vanilla, and stir until thoroughly combined.

Step 4

Spread the mixture out evenly on the baking sheet.  Bake for 40 minutes, stirring after 20 minutes.  Cool completely.

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Date Sugar Co.’s Raw Organic Date Sweetener

In a small bowl, whisk together the date sugar, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper.

Step 2

While whisking, slowly add the olive oil until the vinaigrette is emulsified.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup Date Sugar Co.’s Raw Organic Date Sweetener
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Step 1

In a small saucepan combine all ingredients, and whisk until smooth.

Step 2

Cook on low, 40-50 minutes.

Step 3

*To add some heat, add paprika, chipotle in adobo, ancho chili powder.

In a bowl, combine all ingredients.

Date Sugar Co. Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • 3lb pork shoulder
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 garlic cloves, chopped
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Date Sugar Co.’s Raw Organic Date Sweetener
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • ½ tablespoon chili powder

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Sprinkle salt and pepper on pork shoulder on all sides. 

Step 2

In your slow cooker, add the onion, garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, date sugar, chipotle peppers, chili powder, and ½ cup of water.  Stir to combine.  Add the pork shoulder and submerge in the liquid.

Step 3

Set your slow cooker to high for 5 hours or low for 8 hours.

Step 4

Use tongs to carefully remove the meat to a large plate.  Using two forks, shred the meat and break up the chipotle peppers.  Return the meat to the slow cooker.  Cook for up to one more hour so the meat can absorb the flavors of the juices.

Step 5

Serve as tacos, bowls, or sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk of your choice
  • 1 teaspoon Date Sugar Co.’s Raw Organic Date Sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder

Step 1

Combine Date Sugar and cocoa powder, mix in 2 teaspoons of water.

Combine until blended well.  Add milk and stir until combined.

  • 2 teaspoons nut butter
  • 2 slices of bread

Step 1

Combine Date Sugar with 3 teaspoons of water, combine until it forms a paste. 

Step 2

Spread mixture on one piece of bread.
